2010 RTLS Healthcare Milestones

2010 was a momentous year for Awarepoint. Not only did Jay Deady, our new CEO & President, [see Tracking Jay Deady, Awarepoint President & CEO: Welcome and Introduction] become part of our team, but we’ve also achieved several significant milestones in healthcare RTLS that we are so proud of:

• 91 hospital sites contracted
• 45,062,013 million square feet of real-time location system (RTLS) network coverage in U.S. hospitals
• 135,265 healthcare assets under management

To put all of this into perspective, that’s a 30% increase in hospital sites, 50% increase in square feet of RTLS network coverage and 58% increase in hospital assets compared to 2009! Talk about developing an even more amazing hospital Marauder’s Map than we had before!

From where I sit, I see this happening because of fabulous employees who relentlessly focus on helping healthcare clients make their hospitals more efficient with assets, safer for patients and better able to increase the delivery of high quality healthcare without burdening staff with unnecessary time wasters. Not to mention wonderful hospital clients who challenge us every day with more and more use cases for RTLS in healthcare! Our vision is clear – improve hospital efficiency, quality, safety and compliance with state-of-the-art enterprise awareness.
